Job Description Summary * IMPORTANT NOTE : This position is open to applicants who are CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT ULV AND HAVE AN ACTIVE FEDERAL WORK STUDY award . * The Ontario City Library is seeking individuals who are passionate about helping elementary school students develop and strengthen their literacy skills. Rise , the library’s literacy service, includes a tutoring program for children in grades K – 6. Tutors will receive training on how to help students learn to read. Availability: · Must be available at least two days per week to work in-person with students at the Ovitt Family Community Library . Job opening is off site, STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO/ FROM community partner site(s). Minimum Qualifications -Ability to pass a fingerprint review (background check) as necessary -Must be 18 or older -Reliable transportation -Dependable -Calm and patient -Good communication skills -Positive attitude -Safety conscious -Must be a current ULV student Preferred Qualifications Depending on the task(s): -Organized and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy -Customer service and/or clerical experience -Adept with computers and technology Work Schedule Shifts may be scheduled anytime on the following days and times: · Monday — Thursday 3:00 PM – 9:15 PM · Friday — 2:00 – 6:15 PM · Saturday — 10:00 AM – 6:15 PM
